Abstract
Geologic and structural study of Contrada Tabuna (asphalt mining basin of Ragusa, Sicily).
The results of a geological-structural analysis carried out in the Ragusa bituminous basin, SE Sicily, are presented. Original data on the geometry and kinematic character of outcropping structures outline a complex deformation history, characterized by alternatine episodes of crustal contraction and extension. This alternation is reminiscent of that described in the framework of inversion tectonics models.
